Helena Market Days will be open this Saturday (6/16) from 8:00 am until 12:00 noon. We have another great lineup that includes farmers, craft vendors, chef’s demo, live music, and our weekly non-profit organization.

Chef Ben Tamburello is the Executive Chef/Owner of two restaurants: Bernie’s On Main in Columbiana and La Dolce Vita in Birmingham. La Dolce Vita is inspired by rich tradition of pure Italian food. Their herbs are freshly grown, their pasta is homemade, and the bread starts baking when the diners sit down. No matter how fast paced life becomes, Chef Tamburrelo is committed to La Dolce Vita or “The Sweet Life”. Chef Tamburello will be preparing risotto with grilled vegetables.
Kristina David is our guest performer this week. Kristina is a singer, songwriter from Tuscaloosa. She has been writing and singing since she was five years old. Kristina was a La Reunion Idol finalist in 2012. You may like her on Facebook by clicking on her name above.

Our non-profit this week is Sowers of Seed. They provide a summer lunch program for children in the community that qualify for free or reduced lunches during the school year. It costs $5 to feed a child for a day and $25 will feed one child for a week.
I think about this organization every time I hear the radio ad about 1 in every 4 children in America goes to bed hungry.
